Please follow these instructions to get optimal sound on your vinyl records:

• Before starting the process of cutting and pressing your records, you must make a professional vinyl mastering to reach the optimum sound level and avoid the technical problems involved in the transfer to the analog format.

Some specifications of Vinyl Mastering:

• The loudness of a digital pre-master depends on the genre and the personal taste. From -16 up to -12 LUFS is totally fine: loudness levels within this range are perfect for the most genres and it is loud enough to have a decent sounding vinyl record.
• No high frequencies over 16 kHz, deep cut at 10 Hz.
• Lows, roughly up to 130 Hz should be Mono.
• Sibilance needs to be tamed (de-essing), otherwise distortion may occur.
• No phasings or negative phaseturns, stereo image between +0.5 and +1.
• Don’t use too much compression/limiting. Distortion due to exaggerated limiting will increase in the record.
• Don’t use too less compression/limiting. The quieter parts of a record may sound very noisy (bad signal to noise ratio).
• The louder songs with more presence should be placed in the beginning of each side, while ballads, or songs with lower volume (LU) should go at the end of each side.

• Export your audio files in the highest quality format (WAV, AIFF or DDP), with a sampling frequency greater than 44 kHz (48 kHz recommended) and a minimum resolution of 16 bits (24 bits recommended). *
• In addition to the audio, please fill in and send the Tracklist form of your album, with the name of the artist and album, the title, duration and order of the songs, etc.
• You can send us your sound files in the following ways:
  • One file per side. If you send us one file for each side of the record, you must fill the tracklist form indicating the starting time of each track, so we can detect the cutting point for each of them.
  • One file per track. If you send us one file for each track, please fill the tracklist form with the duration time of them.
• You can send us your files both in physical format (to our factory) and digital (upload them to https://press-play.wetransfer.com/).

In this grid you can see the duration per side that we recommend depending on the format and the speed you choose for your records. To guarantee the best sound quality, it is best to be one or two minutes below the maximum recommended duration (keep in mind that you must include a silence of 2 to 5 seconds between song and song):
